Interviewing Puddle of Mudd! Woohoo! Umm, only it wasn’t me doing the interview this time. It was my friend Kristin doing it for a magazine. I was strictly just a tag along.

Either way it would be good to see the guys again after such a long break.

But things have changed. Christian Stone is no longer in the band. Replaced with Paul Phillips, who was actually the original guitarist. So confusing I know. But keep up. I’ve only been a fan of this band for a few years, so I don’t know this “new guy”. Hmm I’m not sure how I feel about all this. Would we hit it off? Would we look nice in photos together? Should I refer to him as Christian the rest of the day out of loyalty? I bet this is how sports fans feel when players get traded. It was all one big question mark. I guess I’ll see how we click and take it from there.

Anyway, we would be meeting with Ryan Yerdon (drums) and Paul Phillips (guitar) at their hotel. Settle down now people. It was all on the up and up. In the lobby at around 3pm. So no funny stuff. Sheesh! You people have dirty minds. Anyway, it’s nice to meet you Chris um err Paul. And good to see you again Ryan. Well, of course Ryan remembers me, like duhhh.

So We headed into the hotel bar/restaurant and sat down at a booth where Kristin started asking some very intelligible questions. I decided to sit back and keep my mouth shut as to not get in the way. The exchange went something like this:

Kristin: Blah blah guitar riff, blah blah Les Paul?
Paul: Blah blah blah crisp sound, blah blah.
Kristin: Blah blah lay down drum tracks blah blah?
Ryan: Yeah, blah blah, I wrote that first blah blah.

This continued on for awhile. Ooh I wonder what my hair looks like? As I pull out my compact to check. Not bad, after being out in the cold. Ok, ok, focus Toni!

Kristin: Blah blah decided to return to POM?
Paul: Blah blah amicable, blah we get along now blah blah.

Ooh Ryan’s sneakers are really cute. I wonder who makes them? Ok, ok, focus girl. I did however chime in towards the end of the conversation when Kristin finally asked them my burning question.

Kristin: So what do you think of “The Jersey Shore”?
Ryan: I only saw the punch on youtube.

Being from New Jersey myself, I wanted to make it clear that these folks were not exactly from The Garden State. Point made. We than all pondered if Snookie outside this incident deserved to get a punch in the face at some point or not? At the very least, it’s debatable.

Overall things went well. I never realized just how soft spoken and mild mannered Ryan was. To see him play drums, you would never know it. For some reason this made me feel a bit nervous. I sort of got shy and clammed up around him. :oops:

Since I don’t often get nervous it was very curious behavior on my part. When I was younger I used to experience hysterical blindness around Jon Bon Jovi. But that’s understandable. I guess I didn’t want to seem like a pushy New Jersey loud mouth or heaven forbid Snookie-like. Or maybe it was the way he would look up at me and smile. Again, it was all one big question mark.
And although I will miss Christian, Paul turned out to be an alright guy. After all, he does look nice sitting next to me. So, I guess I’ll let him stay.

So, we bid our adieu’s to the guys for now. Kisses. Hugs. And on to the show we go!

Thinking About You.. ahh this song alone encompasses why girls like boys who sing to them. This is the stuff sappy romantic girls like me hold out for. Yes mom, this is probably why I’m still single. But I refuse to settle for less. And no, I don’t want to go out with that nice doctor from church. Can’t you see I just fell in love 1000 times in the course of 3 minutes & 38 seconds. I have the heart of a Pisces and I won’t apologize for it. Yoohoo hey there Wes, lookin good.

The lyrics of their new song “Spaceship” however, are a bit different… It’s probably the reason boys write songs for girls in the first place. Get my panties on the floor? Now that’s just unsanitary! I see that sly look in your eye Doug. What does all this have to do with spaceships anyway? Maybe it’s like when Captain James T. Kirk got it on with the green chick in the original Star Trek? Ah, boy’s and their sci-fi fantasies. Gotta love’em. Hmm Halloween ideas? I do look good in green… just a thought. Either way it’s definitely a fun song to dance to.

Amazing fun day! But little did I know that the best part was yet to come. On our way out, I got tapped on the shoulder and heard a cute little sweet voice.

Young Fan: Are you Toni?
Me: Um, yeah?
Young Fan: I read your blog all the time!
Me: Wow, really? Awesome!

Thanks cute young blond rocker girl! An actual fan! I’m totally flattered.
This is even cooler than when I was Gawker Stalked! Now spread the word. Toni is taking over the world!

Yep Toni, I had read the blog too. You always write your adventures in a humorous way, love reading them lol. Paul really is a great person, you’ll soon like him as much as Christian. Thanks for posting for the fans!
