Outside Lands Festival: Incubus
So I made a deal with my cousin Jack. He would get us the tickets for Outside Lands Fest.. but only if I promised to dance with him during Tom Jones! “It’s a deal! I might even throw my panties on stage!”, I said. That is what people do at his shows ya know!

But that was before we realized that Tom Jones was playing a mile and a half away on a different stage from where we were! I was leery about losing my sweet spot upfront and was dying to see |
| Incubus. The crowd was starting to pack in! No breathing or picture taking room to spare! Things were tight.. So Jack granted me immunity and off he went. So, what’s a solo girl to do but move up closer! | |

I managed to weave in and out of the crowd.. excuse me.. pardon me. Positioning myself only 2 rows of hippies from the barricade! Not bad! Just barely room to stand holding my breath trying desperately to not step on any toes. (Hippies!!) So, after a grueling 45 minute wait… |
Incubus takes the stage with Brandon Boyd, the bands front man wearing a black button down shirt that was buttoned almost to the top and sporting the cutest preppiest haircut ever. Girls all around me were squealing in delight! This is Stellar. Watch!

Swoon! All the girls love Brandon. But the guys also respect him. Their lyrics read more like poetry that accompany a heavy rock sound. Hit after hit sounding crystal clear as if I was listening to my iPod. “Meet me in outerspace /We could spend the night, watch the earth come up” and “The sky resembles a back lit canopy /With holes punched in it /I’m counting UFOs” are just some of the dreamy lyrics that come out of his mouth.. Really Brandon? How did you know I was a UFO enthusiast? All this as Brandon strips off his shirt revealing a striped navy & white tank.. the girls around me squeal some more!
| Then they performed Megalomaniac, a song believed to be about the former president. Proclaiming over and over.. “you’re no Jesus.. you’re no elvis!” Adorable, political and socially conscious! Hippie? hmmm… maybe.. But don’t forget he has a haircut I can bring home to dad! What more could a girl ask for? Except maybe.. um what’s this? Brandon stripping down again! OMG be still our girlie hearts.. Shirtless!
They ended the set with a fun rendition of Prince’s Let’s go Crazy! Amazing! I liked incubus before, but after seeing them live.. I think I love them! I know love is a strong word, but it’s in the air I tell ya! Hippies! Free love! Incubus!
