JET! (part 1) Am I Gonna Be Their Girl?
Me(totally excited): So I’m going to see JET. Yes, I said JET! You know… JET!
Lame Friend: Who? um Ok. JET?
Seriously people?! They sold like 14 million albums a few years back! Not to mention they are super hot Aussie’s! This was just one of the lame conversations I was having all week prior to the show. Grrr. This makes me a lil’ mad! sigh.. and sad. Are your attention spans that short? Now I know I am a bit of a maniac when it comes to concerts and bands.. But a great band like JET is simply unforgettable!
Me: C’mon JET! They sing “that song!” You know! So I start to sing on cue.. like a monkey.. Me: “dun dun dun.. dun dun da dun dun.. Big black boots.. long dark hair.. she’s so sweet with her get back stare!” “Ya know.. the one about me..” I say. But that’s not to say that the aforementioned “Are you Gonna Be my Girl” was their only masterpiece.. oh far from it.. on to the show! And if you are lame.. let me enlighten you!!! 😀 Anyway, Blender theater in NYC.. cute little place on 23rd street. So, I worm my way into the second row.. while Kristin heads off to photograph them in the pit. I said worm.. but maybe it was more like a slither? Yeah slither.. I like that better! |

| They have a new album coming out called “Shaka Rock” and they kicked off the show with a new song called K.I.A. (Killed in Action) and it Rocks! But when JET first came out singing I was a little confused.. Ok I see Nic singing.. Damn sexy.. but then um he was leaning back playing guitar yet someone was still singing? Um is it Cam? nah.. Mark? nope not Mark… Ah! Nic’s brother Chris is whaling away on drums and singing! I love that! Drummers who sing are not that common and I think it’s sort of Uber hot when they do! Think about it.. all that energy it takes to beat on the drums and then to sing too.. Anyway my point is, this band has it all! I believe Cam sings some tracks aswell.. So talented! See for yourself! | |||

So much fun just enjoying every second of the music! I was singing along (like a monkey) to almost every song.. I was quite impressed with myself.. and with them! At one point Nic was riding on top of the crowd! Although I am grateful he wasn’t on top of my head it was totally awesome to see! It is quite obvious that this band is truly all about the music and they put everything they have into their performance! They ended the night with their hit “Cold Hard Bitch” again.. flawless.. & Definitely not about me. So goodnight Jet. I will see you tomorrow.. Lame Friend: Tomorrow Toni?? Me: Stay tuned!
