Toni's Night Out

Never Judge a Band by it’s cover: Rev Theory / Seether

October3

On first sight, I have to admit I might have been a little quick to judge singer Rich Luzzi of Rev Theory. He is handsome to a fault, has perfectly manicured eyebrows & hair and not an ounce of body fat to speak of. Being a Jersey girl myself I have seen the likes of him before. Or so I thought. That is, until he got on stage! The charisma and stage presence of this front man and his band, all I can say is WOW! They are indeed the real deal!

See! I told you! Above is one of their hits, “Favorite Disease” mixed in with “Head like a Hole” by Nine Inch Nails. Sweet! All the while poor Rikki Lixx was playing with a busted hand but still somehow managed to rock the house. 🙂 I know what you’re thinking.. Rikki Lixx, Nikki Sixx? I can’t be sure but I will assume he is paying homage of some sort.

I’ve actually seen this band before, but never this close and personal. We quickly made friends with the guys in the band.. Drummer Dave Agoglia and guitarist Rikki Lixx were super sweet.

Up next was Seether.. not nearly as pretty as Rev Theory.. But they rock pretty good none the less. I used to really like this band, but tonight.. I felt like they were just going through the motions.. I feared they were losing interest in me. Sad I know.. Eh What’s a girl to do?

Eventually me and Kristin had enough. However, nothing against Seether… It had just been such a long day. And to be honest a full hour into the set and the singer did not move much from his spot.  So we went outside for some fresh air. Ofcourse we find out that shortly after we left the front that he started smashing guitars and amps and busting up the stage!! Damn it! I would have loved to have seen that! I guess in hindsight I could see the anger building.. eh but who knew? ha ha Maybe this was the gesture I was looking for? sigh.. too bad I missed it.. a little late Seether! No hard feelings.. I will still listen to you But next time start smashing stuff sooner if you want to hold my interest. 😀

While outside we ran into more Rev Theory guys.. Super sweet and I think being a young band they appreciate me more..

Lessons learned: Pretty boys really can rock and never leave a show until people start smashing stuff!

I hope you enjoyed my night out! Until next time! xoxo Toni 🙂
